Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I start?
A. Starting couldn't be simpler – just take advantage of our special introductory offer.
Q. I’m not very fit at the moment. Does that matter?
A. You don’t need to be very fit to start training in Krav Maga; your fitness will increase the more you train. Some drills are designed to be physically – and mentally – demanding but you only push yourself to your own limits. Obviously as with any physical activity, if you have any pre-existing health problems it’s wise to check with your doctor first.
Q. I’ve never done anything like this before. Are the classes suitable for beginners?
A. Absolutely. No experience is necessary.
Q. What kind of clothing should I wear?
A. Any comfortable clothing, eg. t-shirt, track pants or shorts, and sports shoes. The “official” uniform is KMG t-shirt (which you receive when you sign up) and black pants. Remember to remove any jewellery while training for your and your partners’ safety.
Q. Do I need any safety equipment?
A. Not initially for your trial classes, however after you sign up, a groin protector and mouth guard are essential.
Q. How long will it take to learn?
A. Unfortunately there is no definitive answer for this question. The goal of Krav Maga is to give you the tools to protect yourself and your loved ones the minute you step on the floor. How much, and how quickly, a person absorbs the training depends entirely on the individual and how regularly he/she trains.
